Yes. Every musician in the Civic Youth Ensembles passes through an audition process.

When are rehearsals held?
Typically, the Jazz groups and Civic Wind Ensemble rehearse Wednesday nights from 7:00-9:30 PM, while the orchestras rehearse throughout the day on Saturdays.
Where are rehearsals held?
Most rehearsals are held at the Jacob Bernard Pincus Music Education Center. All the full orchestras rehearse in Allesee Hall. Dress rehearsals are held in the venue that the ensemble is performing in. Occasionally, rehearsals will be held in different places to accommodate events at The Max.
How often does each ensemble perform?
Each ensemble performs at least 3 times a season. Civic Jazz Orchestra and Civic Youth Orchestra often perform additional concerts within the season.
